Big News Coming

It seems like it’s been a while since I’ve been blogging, so I will try to get back to that more often than every 5 years ha ha! Meanwhile, I do have some news. I have been working with Kako Gallery on beautiful Royal Street in the heart of the French Quarter for the last 2 years. Unfortunately due to covid and other opportunities, that location is closing and so I am no longer represented by Kako. But have no fear, I should have good news to share in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, if you’re in the Crescent City and want to see my work, just head on over to Mahogany Jazz Hall on Chartres and Iverville, they have 6 of my paintings right there, and 5 of them are for sale. While my New Orleans painting series is soon to be spoken for, I am looking for another gallery who may wish to host my New York and European series. If that’s you, please reach out!

Wazee Supper Club- Newest Painting

Hello all.  I am happy to say that I am done with my newest painting, "Wazee Supper Club" approx. 16 by 22 inches, acrylic on masonite.  My first experience with this wonderful restaurant was as a place to celebrate being done with a high school production of Grease.  I was absolutely amazed by the pizza- whatever topping you order absolutely covered every single square inch of that pie.  If you ordered mushrooms on your pizza, it looked like they used an entire can of mushrooms.  It was unlike anything else I had ever seen.  After college my friend Joe and I would go there virtually every Wednesday.  We would greet the doorman Russ by name, and have our favorite waitress, Brooke, bring us the same amazing pepperoni pizza every week.  It got to where she would see our car pull up and she would immediately put our order in to the kitchen.  That was back when neither of us had any commitments outside of work- the carefree days of our young adulthood.  The pie has changed- and the restaurant has new owners who are intent on restoring the recipe to the original 1970's version.  I can't wait to try it once they do!

I finally have prints for sale

After many months of trying to decide which paintings to make prints of, I finally have the actual prints in hand.  I went to Reed Imaging on 8th and Federal in Denver.  They did a really nice job of taking hi-res photos of my paintings, and were very easy to work with.  These are really nice prints, and although I'm selling them for $85 apiece, I'm actually not making that much money on them.  I thought it was important, however, to dip my toes into the printmaking waters.  I hope to have a booth of my work at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in 2016 and I know that having affordable prints available will increase what I can do with my art.  I will also soon have prints for sale of Sam's No.3 at the restaurant itself, hopefully within 2 weeks or so.  The 3 paintings available as prints are My Brother's Bar, Oxford at Union Station, and Major Ride Coupons.  Thanks for looking at my work, and if you like it, please spread the word!

Oxford At Union Station done-prints to come!

I finally completed the Oxford At Union Station painting after a little over two months.  For me that is a long time to spend on a painting, but it really was worth it.  My wife and I got married at the Oxford and had a lot of fun afterwards at the Union Station, so this painting is a real moment of our lives.  Please let me know what you think!  I know the original painting is very expensive because of the time spent working on it, but I will have prints of it for sale soon.  I am taking this painting and two others to the printers today! When the prints are available I will have them in the store right here.  If you live locally, I will be happy to deliver them! Thanks so much for looking at my work.

Which paintings should be prints?

Hello all!  I want to get some of my paintings available as prints, and I need your help! Which of my paintings would you be most likely to buy as a print? I will get professional fine art prints made, and I'm thinking they will be somewhere around $200 with shipping.  Of course if anyone lives in the area, I will be happy to hand deliver an order.  So, please let me know in the comment section here or by e-mailing me at keithoelschlager@gmail.com which paintings would most interest you! Thanks so much for stopping by!

New Painting Finished-My Brother's Bar

Hello everyone! I'm happy to say that I've finished my newest painting, "My Brother's Bar".  It's is approximately 18'' x 24'' acrylic on masonite.  This has been one of my more popular paintings on social media, so I hope to have prints of it available shortly after the New Year.  At this point I am thinking about having prints made of 3 or 4 of my paintings, most likely "Sam's No. 3" and "The Market" along with this one.  I would love feedback and even pre-orders through my e-mail at keithoelschlager@gmail.com.  As soon as the store is up on this site, payment options will become a lot easier to handle.  Thanks for checking out my work, it's a pleasure to be able to share it!
